Hot Racing at the NI Sprint and Middles

LVO hosted the double Spring and Middle Distance Championships day on 24 July in excellent weather. Sharon Dickenson,  Billy Reed and Conor McKernon officiated at Sprint at Ulster University Jordanstown, with Aileen McCarron, Wilbert Hollinger and Richard Williamson at the Middle Distance at Woodburn Forest with Mark Pruzina who managing the SIEntries and Timing.

A good turnout was boosted by the lack of opportunity for overseas travel but also with visiting orienteers from Republic of Ireland, England and Scotland.

Competition was reported to be fierce with a tie for both the NI Champion title and runners up on the Women’s Open at the Sprint and in at the Middle Distance in the Men’s Super Vet with the winning margin being a mere 3 seconds.
