Join NI Orienteering

Welcome to the NI Orienteering membership page – We are pleased that you are considering joining us and hope that you become an active member of your local club and enjoy orienteering for many years to come.

There are 3 Open Clubs in Northern Ireland
Fermanagh Orienteers (FermO)
Lagan Valley Orienteers (LVO)
and
North West Orienteering Club (NWOC)
These 3 clubs form the Northern Ireland Orienteering Association (NIOA) also known as NI Orienteering, which in turn is governed by the rules of the British Orienteering (BOF).

Orienteering events are run according to British Orienteering rules governing all aspects of the sport including standard of planning, organising, safety, etc. BOF also provide insurance cover for all events and activities, which would otherwise be prohibitively expensive for each Club. All Club/Association members must also be members of BOF so when you become a member there are 3 membership fees to be paid, although these are all paid to BOF who in turn forward the relevant fees to clubs and associations. Below is the table of membership fees for 2025.
