Horses for Courses
Orienteering, football and horse jumping all coexisted peacefully at Cromelin Park in Donaghadee on 20 August for the 5th outing of the 2022 NI Urban Orienteering League. Whilst the horses headed for their jumping course on the beach and the footballers ran around their pitch, the orienteers were all over the town. The Long and Middle courses visited the nooks and crannies of the older town, some housing estates, Cromelin Wood and then as a finale up to the top of the Moat for a quick view of the horse riders and footballers. The Short course took in the town centre and parkland, avoiding road crossings.
The results are on the Results>2022 Results page, including RouteGadget, Splitsbrowser and Winsplits analysis. Please do plot your routes to see which of those route choices were the best!
The next outing in the NI Urban Orienteering League is to Craigavon on Bank Holiday Monday 29 August, where two back-to-back sprint races are on offer in rather challenging terrain. Details are on the LVO event page and entries are now open on SI Entries.
