Harold White presented with the Colin Henderson Trophy

After trying for months to arrange a suitable suprise presentation of the Colin Henderson Trophy, a last minute opportunity arose on the afternoon of Friday 11 November. Harold was unable to be at LVO’s Cairn Wood event, but had agreed to assist controller Richard Williamson with placing the controls.

Representatives from the NI Orienteering committee, Philip Baxter, Stephen Gilmore and Gordon Stephens were waiting for Harold as he emerged from the forest to present the Colin Henderson Trophy, which had been announced at the AGM earlier this year.

Harold has done much for orienteering in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, as he worked in Dublin for a significant period. His expert coordination of the JK in 2011 will be remembered by all those who were involved.
