Fight with the Night

The NI Night Championships originally scheduled for February 2021 was finally run on a calm autumn evening on 13 November. Staging the championships immediately after the middle distance NI Series event at Drumnaph certainly helped to attract a good entry.

The difference between late winter and mid autumn is of course the prolific presence of leaves which makes for spotting paths that more tricky by torchlight. Planner Ric Gamble made excellent use of what is a rather small area, criss-crossing several times using a 2 sided map. Thanks also to controller Des Fletcher and organiser Richard McCourt. The Results are at Results>2021 Results, including RouteGadget, Splits Browser and  WinSplits

Congratulations to the 2021 Night Champions:

  • W Open  Olivia Baxter, LVO
  • W45+ Ruth Blair, NWOC
  • W60+ Helen Baxter, LVO
  • M Open Jonathan McCloy, NWOC
  • M16  – Peter Gamble, LVO
  • M45+ Billy Reed, LVO
  • M55+  Stephen Gilmore, LVO

The prizegiving will be between the NI Score and NI Night Champs on 19 February 2022.
