Emerald Isle Festival Wrapped Up
The Emerald Isle Festival of Orienteering, culminating in the British Sprint and Middle Distance Championship weekend is over and, if past history is a guide, it will be another decade before we see such an invasion of orienteers from GB and beyond. There is no doubt that excellent weather, somehow dodging heavy showers, helped made for a great week. But the core success of the week relied on excellent courses on great maps with a superb effort from all our officials and helpers.
For the key officials, the past week has been a time to sort equipment, tally expenses, write thank you notes and for the IT team finalise the results. All the results, complete with analysis tools, are now accessible at Results>2023 Results. Do take some time to peruse the results, add your routes to Routegadget and check your points not only on the BOF rankings, but also on the UKUL and UKOL rankings. Almost every NI competitor who ran in the British Champs will see a significant jump in their BOF ranking score.
So it’s congratulations and thanks to all our officials and helpers on making for an excellent week and also to our local British Champions:
