Three New Event Controllers Appointed

Three New Event Controllers Appointed

Congratulations to Ciara Largey FermO, Ric Gamble LVO and George Savell LVO who have all met the requirements to be approved to hold a Event Controller Grade C Licence. This is the requirement to act as controller for Grade C events, which are NI Colour Series, NI Urban League and NI Championship events. In addition several other members have just one or two tasks to complete to also be awarded their Controller Licence.

The requirements to be awarded a licence are:

  • Attend a Grade C Controller Course
  • Take the Event Safety Workshop
  • Organise an event
  • Plan 3 events of which at least 1 is Level C Event.
  • Be approved by the NIOA committee.

These can be taken in any order apart from the Event Safety Workshop, which is a pre-requisite before officiating in any event. So as you progress in the sport to set yourself the goal of becoming a controller and work towards achieving the requirements and look out for the next controller course which are held every few years.
