The First Forest

The First Forest

The first state forest to be planted in Northern Ireland is the venue for the NI Colour Series event hosted by North West Orienteering Club on Saturday 28 March. All the detail is on the event page on the NWOC website, with entries on SI Entries. Entries close Sunday 22 March 2026 at 21:30.

The forest has been used for orienteering for almost 50 years, but even with the recent storm damage that has affected so much of our forest, NWOC officials say that Ballykelly is more runnable now than it has been for 50 years. It’s one not to miss!
