WEE 2014 Event 10: Victoria Park

Congratulations to the 95 people who found the underpass to get into to Victoria Park, yes you can see the park from the bypass but you have to sneak up on it! Thanks to all the volunteers especially Pete and Sid who got the start queue moving, Ben for helping on the download and Taryn, Steph, Paul and Declan who collected controls and all those who volunteered to go and collect. Also I’d like to thank Mark and the others who helped pack up, we were out of the park by 8.50!

Sorry to all who didn’t get print outs, unfortunately although we’d packed the kitchen sink we left out the printer paper.

Planner’s Note: Despite having discussed the works plan with the contractors only a week ago, the new fence that blocked off the route to and from control 167 (16 on the Long, 13 on the Short) was a complete surprise! Hopefully it did not detract too much from the courses although the run in from the last control on the Short turned into a bit of a marathon (good opportunity to go splits comparing on Winsplits). We can now look forward to Phil Stuart’s courses next week at Ormeau.
