Mark Stephens wins (again)

Well it makes a change from Billy Reed winning (again), as this season it looks like it’s Mark Stephens who is the one to beat on the Men’s Brown course after recording his second NI Colour Series win of the season last Saturday 21 April at Spring Grove, Co Fermanagh. It would seem that Mark’s extended trip to the antipodes has done him no harm at all! Also recording double wins in the league so far are Heather Cairns on Women’s Blue, Ross Walker on Men’s Green, Mark Earnshaw and Ruth Blair on Men and Women’s Short Green respectively, Garbhan McGoldrick on Light Green Men and Rebecca Linton on Women’s Orange. We haven’t yet score recorded on Yellow as only non members have competed, but as soon as they join hey-presto their points are backdated! All the results are at Results>2018 Results and the NI Series League at Results>NI Colour Series Leagues.

But it wasn’t all about the course winners with a beautiful day at Spring Grove complete with sunshine and spring flowers (and not too many brambles!) being enjoyed by all at the ably event staged by Fermanagh Orienteers.

The next event in the series is on the Slievenagore map at Silent Valley near Kilkeel, on Saturday 23 June. Remember there is a Colour suitable for everyone at a NI Colour Series League event!
