Beat The Planner – NI Autumn Workshop Series

Have you ever wondered why the planner has set a course in a particular way? What is he trying to get you to do? Is he being kind or tricky? This autumn NIOA will host a series of 3 workshops with the theme ‘Beat the Planner’. The workshops are not designed just for planners. They are aimed at all participants whether novice or at performance level and are intended to help improve competitors’ technique. Each one will be led by an experienced planner who will outline what it is that a planner is aiming to achieve as well as some of the ‘tricks’ that are used to aid confusion! The workshops will try to meet the needs of all those attending, be open to everyone and be a convivial opportunity to meet other orienteers.

The planned dates are:

9 Oct         Beat the Sprint Planner                       Philip Baxter

13 Nov      Beat the Middle Distance Planner       Wilbert Hollinger (to be confirmed)

11 Dec       Beat the Long Distance Planner          To be announced

The evenings will run from 7.45pm to 9.45pm and will be held in a central location (Craigavon, possibly) to encourage participation. If you want to attend please let publicity@niorienteering.org.uk know in advance.
