Organiser's Report

Phew! What an evening! Fabulous weather & a record turnout for a WEE series event (is there a connection?) It was tough enough designing a long course in Ormeau that didn't look like a spider's web when you joined the dots, but I hope everyone enjoyed their run in the sun.

Very short winner's times gives the rest of us something to aim for. A common comment at download was 'must learn to run faster!'.

And now the thanks..........thanks to Stephen for showing the newcomers the ropes. Thanks to Declan for technical advice as ever. Thanks to Bill for his hawk-like eyes on the controls, ensuring that none (yes, none!) went missing during the event. Thanks to everyone who got drafted in as vigilante marshalls & control-collectors when the locals turned up to try & make off with our equipment. And thanks to Davy for the use of the boot of his car & making everything run so smoothly on the evening.

Lessons to be learned:
1. Cable-ties are cheap. Use loads to tie down controls.
2. SI units are pricey. Make sure to use plenty of cable-ties.
3. It is not possible to over-estimate how many maps you will need. You will always run out (note this seems to be my personal experience only). Many thanks if you donated yours to the later competitors on the long course.
4. If you plan a spectator control, do make sure to turn round every now & then to watch the competition!

So that's my words of wisdom; results will be along shortly (thanks Stephen) See you at the next one.
Susan

[Split times are now up, as are the results and league points. Since we are so friendly at LVO in the summer folk who missed controls have been given a 15 min penalty per control instead of disqualification. In the heat of the race I missed the easiest control on the course No 10 myself and had to go back! - Stephen].
