Final Details From the Organiser:
WELCOME BACK
For the second County Armagh WEE Series 2007 event, we move to Ireland’s oldest city, Armagh, and another interesting city park, Palace Demesne. Set in the Demesne are the ruins of a 13th Century Franciscan Friary, the Primate’s Palace (the former home of the Archbishop of the Church of Ireland) and its associated Chapel and Stables. The renovated Stables now house the Palace Stables Heritage Centre.
Juniors might like to know there is an Adventure Playground located near the Heritage Centre!
If you would like more information about the Demesne and Heritage Centre, go to www.visitarmagh.com where you will also find details of the Festival of Flowers and Garden Fair taking place there from the 4th to the 7th May.
DIRECTIONS TO PALACE DEMESNE/PALACE STABLES
From Belfast/Antrim: turn off at Junction 11 on the M1 (Portadown) and follow the signs for the A3 to Armagh. At the first roundabout as you approach the outskirts of Armagh, go straight ahead. At the second roundabout, follow the brown signs for Palace Stables. The entrance to the Demesne is on the left-hand side of the road just past the Armagh City Hotel and Conference Centre.
