Final Details From the Organiser:

STOP PRESS!!!

Please note that this event, on Wednesday 22nd August, is at Musgrave Park. Some publicity had originally advertised this date as being Orangefield Playing Fields / Greenville Park. In fact, Orangefield / Greenville is on the previous week, Wednesday 15th August.

Apologies for any confusion caused.

Our penultimate event is at Musgrave Park in West(ish) Belfast. As usual, registration is from 6.45pm, starts between 7.00pm and 7.30pm, and courses close promptly at 8.15pm to allow us to gather our controls back before nightfall.

We are using the entrance beside Musgrave Park Hospital. Turn off Stockmans Lane up towards the hospital, and keep an eye out for the Parks signs on the right. The entrance is a few metres before the security hut for the hospital.

Parking within the park grounds is not to be recommended as it is extremely likely to be full up and prone to congestion. There is a SMALL car park just outside the park gates (please give priority to hospital staff, though it should be empty in the evening). If this is full, please park carefully elsewhere. It goes without saying, but do not obstruct entrances or other cars, and do not park on double yellow lines. The road is a hospital entrance & exit. Please consider this when you are parking.

Some more rules and regulations (sorry). There is building work going on in the park, which is fenced off. The courses have been planned to avoid it, and there is no advantage to be gained by entering this area. The building site is strictly out of bounds, and any orienteers found ignoring this rule will be disqualified.

Please also run round flowerbeds, not through them (it's much faster anyway!). There is a small triangular area you will see marked as out of bounds on the map. This is a particularly well-kept area of manicured grass and flowerbeds. It is very noticeable on the ground from its putting-green standard of grass. Please keep out of this area as it will be easily damaged. Lecture over, thanks for listening.

My usual request, please pre-register by email and you can pick up your map and dibber and head off.

Any queries, please do ring or send me an email. See you there.

Susan
