Message from the Planner:

Welcome to the NIO Championships 2010.

First of all my apologies for the misinformation about the climb on all courses which were calculated at double the actual climb.

To make the most of the area a number of starts are being used so that everyone will finish in the assembly field.

The start (1) for course 8-13 will be adjacent to the assembly area.  The start (2) for the courses 4-7 will be 2.3 km and 90m climb, so allow for 45 min walking.  The start for courses 1-3 will be through the start (2) and instead of going on the zero line there will be a further 0.7km and 130m climb to start 3.

Do not panic as we will be using a punching start.

Due to the nature of the terrain it has not been possible to meet the TD projection for some of the short courses ie courses 8, 9 and 10 resulting in a drop of 1 TD to TD4

We have also readjusted the colour coded courses to Light Green course 11, Orange course 12 and Yellow course 13

Safety

1. In the latter part of the courses starting from the further starts competitors will have an option of running through the main car park.  If you do, take care.

2. In the shorter course you may have a leg option that could take you close to the entrance gate and care should be taken at this point for traffic.

3. There is also a route choice near the end through the assembly field and competitors who choose this must stay to the eastern side adjacent to the fence.
