The NI Colour Series League

The final Northern Ireland Colour Series League 2017 has now been published along with the Colours of Autumn at Results>NI Colour Series Leagues. Thanks are due to Alan Gartside for calculating the points. The prizegiving will take place between the NI Score Championships and NI Night Championships on 10 February 2018. Please check if you are entitled to a prize, noting that if the Colours of Spring has been won by the same competitor as the main league, then the 2nd placed will receive a prize. Similarly with the Colours of Autumn, so it is possible that the 3rd place competitor may receive a prize of 1st and 2nd have already been rewarded. If that’s too complicated to work out, be sure to be at the prizegiving just in case Ann Savage has your name on a prize!

The 2018 Colour Series League will take place over 6 events. The dates and most of the venues are now listed on the registered fixtures list. Since these dates are spread throughout the year, there will not be separate Colours of Spring and Autumn leagues.

A change for 2018 will be the introduction of a Short Green course. This will be attractive to some of our veteran competitors, but will also be of interest to progressing orienteers, moving up from Light Green to Green. There will be no Long Orange in 2018. Planners and Controllers are asked to take note of these changes and check the appropriate standard for each colour.
