The competitor has a sheaf of identical mini-maps of the terrain in which the cluster of kites is located and towards which they are facing. These maps are orientated to the direction of view, not to north. They each include a north arrow.

LVO is organising a series of training sessions for those interested in being an organiser for club level events and have little or no previous experience.
Details : Lagan Valley Leisureplex. Tues evenings from 6.30-9.30pm
The first session will be on 21st Feb and will be facilitated by Colin Henderson
Title : Introduction to Organising
Unit Aim :
To provide Organisers and other Event Volunteers with an overview of what is required to organise an event at Levels C and D:
• The essentials of event organisation administration
• The essentials of event technical systems
Learning Outcomes :
By the end of this workshop you will understand:
•The responsibilities of the event Organiser, Planner and Controller and how they should interact
•The roles and responsibilities of an event organiser
•The skills & qualities needed by an event organiser
•How to plan before the event day
•How to delegate on the event day
•What needs to be done after the event
The following sessions will be on the 13 March Dealing with SI/IT - Stephen Gilmore and 3 April BOF Event Safety Course - Helen Baxter
The evenings are open to all NIO members at no cost.

It has now been confirmed that the British TrailO Champs 2012 will be held on the weekend of 17th/18th March in Newborough Forest, Anglesey with the Saturday having practice/model events and the Championship event being held on the Sunday.

Planning for the next event at Parkanaur on the 11 Feb is well underway. This event includes Spring Cup 2 and the AGM. The sequence includes a day event, the AGM and finishes with a Night Event. The core organising team is in place but given the added extras of the AGM and Night Event some additional support on the day is required to make things run smoothly and to enable everyone to get a run.
