The following guideline statement is intended to highlight and clarify
the current funding policy of Lagan Valley Orienteering Club. Any
comments or issues should be raised with the club committee.
Subsidies for International Representation
LVO will support members selected to represent club and country
at international and inter-regional foot-O and trail-O competitions
held outside Northern Ireland. Each individual will be reimbursed
up to 33% of reasonable costs, such as entry fees, budget travel,
budget accommodation and meals, up to a limit of £100 per
trip and £300 per calendar year.
Claims should be submitted to the committee, accompanied by receipts.
Reimbursements will be made once total claims are known towards
the end of the year. Annual funding from the club will be capped
at £1200, therefore individual amounts awarded may be reduced
depending on demand. Beneficiaries are expected to be committed
members who assist with running events or other club activities.
All awards are at the discretion of the committee.
Additional funding may be made available in special circumstances
and depending on the club’s other financial commitments.
In addition, the club will continue to pay the entry fees for LVO
relay teams entered in the Irish Relay Championships (when hosted
outside Northern Ireland), British Orienteering Relay Championships
and the JK Relay Championships.
