  • M16    Mark Stephens, Stephen O'Reilly, Harry Millar, Jack Millar

  • W18    Áine Mc Cann, Andrea Stefko
  • W16    Catherine Hamilton
  • W14    Jill Stephens

Team Manager    Greg Mc Cann

Assistant              Sharon Shaw

This year the team comprised of 15 athletes, the biggest team yet entered for Northern Ireland and a number of whom were new to the sport.

The terrain over the two days consisted of a mixture of grazing land with some small coniferous plantations on the hills and in the valleys some delightful if a bit damp, areas of deciduous woodland.  This resulted in a fast race in full sun with temperatures well into the 20s.

Unfortunately the team incurred a few injuries on both days which restrained some athletes from performing to their full potential, but nevertheless, the team was positioned 10th after the first day of individual races and then gained a place on the second day after the relay race meaning that this year Northern Ireland finished 9th overall which is a position gain over last years 10th which is fantastic!

Congratulations to everyone who took part, this couldn’t have taken place without you, and a very well done to Jack Millar 4th M16 and  Andrea Stefko 7th W18.  I hope all those injured are recovering well.

Keep up the good work.
